Melissa Scrofani started her career in a local salon at just 17 years old. It was in that salon that she learned basic skills and began building the foundation of her broad experience. After working there for years and soaking in every last bit of advice from the seasoned stylists and colorists she worked with, Melissa decided to break out of the salon. She wanted to take her skills and create a comfortable experience for the women who couldn’t make it to the salon.
With a strong desire to freelance and to travel, Melissa engulfed herself in education. It’s something that she has never stopped. She started out by going to every single hair seminar and hair show that she could possibly attend. She trained with Redken 5th Avenue, where she learned the principles of hair color. She is also trained in the Vidal Sassoon cutting technique. In the process, she worked and trained with some of the most renowned hairstylists in the industry.
Along the way, Melissa found that she was passionate about editorial and bridal styling. She began training with Martin Parsons as well as tear sheet and Redken artists like Giovanni Giuntoli, where she learned how to create looks for bridal, film, TV and magazine shoots.
In the midst of all of her extensive training, Melissa started her on-location business. She can now be found styling brides all over NYC and the Hudson Valley as a highly recommended bridal hair expert.
